🏷️ Advanced Category Settings

Add subcategories, control who can see or order a category, and delete a category together with its products — without breaking combos in other categories.

📝 Steps

  1. Open MANAGEMENTProductCategory. Tap the pencil on a row to open Edit Category (or + then save a new category first).
  2. Turn on Has Sub-Category. Tap Add Sub Category. In the Add Category dialog, enter Sub-Category Name and an Icon, then tap the green check.
  3. Drag the handle to reorder subcategories. Tap the pencil on a subcategory to edit it. To remove one, open it and tap red Delete Category.
  4. Assign products: go to Item, edit a product in that category, and set Sub-Category. The field appears only after the parent category has subcategories.
  5. Still in Edit Category, set who can see or order the group:
    • Visibility — show or hide the category.
    • Internal Category — show it only on the POS (not online / kiosk).
    • Delisted — hide the category from display.
    • Only for Member to Order — only members can order products in this category.
  6. Tap the green check on Edit Category to save.
  7. To delete a category, tap the red trash on its row. If it has products, confirm This will delete the category and {count} products. Are you sure? with Confirm. That also deletes those products.
  8. If any of those products are used as combo items in other categories, delete is blocked: Cannot delete: Products in this category are used in combo(s): …. Remove them from those combos first.

💡 Tip: Saving Has Sub-Category with no subcategories turns the switch back off. Deleting a subcategory is Delete Category inside the subcategory dialog — it does not delete the parent. POS shows a second row of subcategory buttons once they exist.
